Mission
Clearing the way for your wise body to heal itself describes my aim.
Your body is remarkable in its ability to create a healthful state. For example, just consider the first time you take some medication that has instant effects you can feel. You will notice the next time you take it, it isn’t as powerful. That’s because your liver becomes so efficient in recognizing and clearing that “foreign” substance, the medication, from your system that you hardly feel the effects anymore.
My job is to adjust you to restore proper positioning and remove any blockages of the nerves, muscles, bones, and joints that may prevent your body from functioning properly. After the blockages are cleared, your body will take over and do the rest.
My job is also to provide you with information and encourage you to eat well, manage stress, relax, and exercise, which are some of the greatest links to health.

I would like to help everyone to feel well and will do my part to make that happen!
Who I Am: Dr. Mary McGaa
Education
Bachelor of Science, 1989, Saint Mary of the Plains College, Dodge City, KS.
Doctor of Chiropractic, 2009, Northwestern Health Sciences University, Bloomington, MN.
All my life, I have had an strong desire to learn about natural health care.
I am trained in the traditional chiropractic Diversified Technique and Activator Method. Both styles have fifty years of research behind them, and both prove to be very effective. I prefer the Activator Method because it is very gentle and uses your body’s reflexes, which guides me to be very precise in adjusting you.
In 2005, I earned my certification for shiatsu at CenterPoint Massage and Shiatsu School in Minneapolis, MN. Shiatsu, a form of traditional Chinese medicine, is a type of therapy that uses the same meridians and pressure points that are used in acupuncture. I have also studied Qi Gong, a Chinese energy healing system, and use it regularly in my practice.
Employment
I worked for many years as an elementary, middle school, and high school teacher. I taught Reading, English, Art, Biology, American History, and all elementary subjects. I was also a part-time substitute teacher while attending Northwestern Health Sciences University.
While attending chiropractic college and establishing my own practice, I have worked as a massage therapist at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
For the past five years, I have also loved my work as a hospice massage therapist for Our Lady of Peace Hospice in Saint Paul, MN.
Hobbies
I love learning, which includes continuing to study the body. I work at helping myself heal by having a good diet and exercising. My exercise plan includes hiking, yoga, swimming, and tai chi, and I have trained in Dr. Lam’s Tai Chi program for the Arthritis Foundation. I also enjoy making pottery and sewing.
